Service Includes
- Inspection: Thorough measurement of your cylinder’s current bore and evaluation of port chamfers.
- Boring: Performed on specialized equipment to ensure a straight and round bore.
- Cross-Hatch Honing: Finished with a multi-stage plateau hone for optimal oil retention and immediate ring seating.
- Port Chamfering: All port edges are hand-deburred and radiused to prevent ring snagging and extend engine life.
- Final Cleaning: Deep cleaned to remove all honing grit; ready for assembly out of the box.
Shipping & Turnaround
We aim for a transparent and efficient process to get you back on the track or trail:
- Inbound Shipping: The customer is responsible for shipping the cylinder to our shop. Please ensure it is packaged securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Arrival Confirmation: As soon as your package is received at our facility, we will send you a confirmation email to let you know it has arrived safely.
- 2-Week Guarantee: We guarantee a maximum 14-day turnaround from the day we receive your cylinder to the day it ships back out.
- Free Return Shipping: We cover the cost of shipping the finished cylinder back to your door.
Piston Options
To ensure a perfect fit, the cylinder must be bored to the specific piston being used.
- Supply Your Own: Send your new oversized piston along with the cylinder.
- We Can Supply One: Don't have a piston yet? We can provide a high-quality replacement (Vertex, Wiseco, or Wössner) at an additional cost. We will source the correct oversize for your build, ensuring the bore is matched to the piston for maximum performance.
How It Works
- Order Online: Purchase the service through our shop.
- Pack & Ship: Send your cylinder (stripped of all power valve components and studs) to the address provided in your order confirmation.
- Machining: We set the exact clearance required for your specific piston.
- Delivery: We ship the completed cylinder back to you at no extra charge.
Important Notes
- Sleeved Cylinders Only: This service is for cast iron sleeves. Nikasil or plated cylinders requiring a bore must be re-sleeved or re-plated (contact us for a separate quote).
- Power Valves: Please remove all power valve assemblies before shipping. A cleaning fee may apply if the cylinder arrives with heavy carbon buildup or hardware still attached.
